Important disclaimer: I am not an expert on 356 tools! I have collected information from multiple sources, including my own observations, and try to present it on this site in a coherent manner. There will always be variations and differences from what is presented here. This site should be considered a work in progress, and not a definitive statement on what is correct for 356 tool kits. Use this site at your own risk, and please tell me if you find errors or can contribute to the site.

-Jorg 1661 "Green"???

    -the earlier Jorg 1661 screwdrivers had no plating
Short slot screwdriver
-may have had two in each kit, with different sizes. This picture shows two found in a very original kit. The one on the left is the same as later ones, with about a 6mm wide tip/shaft. The one on the right is smaller, and could be used on the screw-type electrical connectors.
-larger one was painted red, smaller one was clear varnished.    
Late Pre-A Long slot screwdriver
-Jorg 1661

(this picture shows the early non-plated variety in an unrestored condition)
Some Jorg 1661 may have had a blonde finished handle. 250mm -the earlier Jorg 1661 screwdrivers had no plating
-marked with a "7" in an oval on the tip

-JORG decal on handle near ferrule
-"keystone" tip (tip flares out wider than the shaft and is flattened)
Short slot screwdriver
-one or two (see above)
  85-90mm  
early A (1956) Long slot screwdriver
JÖRG-Nr. 1661 marked on shaft

CHROM-VANADIUM on the opposite side

Reddish-brown painted wood, flutes are usually painted
240mm -possibly plated
-marked with a "7" in an oval on the tip

-JORG decal on handle near ferrule
-"keystone" tip (tip flares out wider than the shaft and is flattened)
Short slot screwdriver
No markings

-may have had early style of JORG decal
late A (1957-59) Long slot screwdriver

-tip is flattened and lengthened so that it can be used to hold the pulley from turning when adjusting the fan belt (retains the 1660/1 part number from 1959 and earlier)
Short slot screwdriver
No markings
Reddish-brown painted wood, flutes are painted  100mm -"keystone" tip (tip flares out wider than the shaft and is flattened)
Phillips screwdriver
Early: no markings (same as A)

Late: "Chrom-van" near end, slightly different handle shape than the A

Another type (maybe around 1961?):

marked "No2 Recess"

The first time I saw this type I thought it must have a replacement shaft, especially since it measured 1/4" in diameter (6.35mm) rather than 6mm like the other Phillips drivers. I have subsequently heard of and seen similar drivers in original kits dating from around 1961.

T6B (1962) Long slot screwdriver

No Markings, or...

Might have JÖRG-Nr. 1660/1 marked on shaft, CHROM-VANADIUM on the opposite side (like the T6B)

-More "elongated" handle than the previous version: more like the previous Phillips.

-Red painted wood handles, flutes painted
(same shape and size as Phillips)
